Creating a Tagging Pixel on trytagging.com

Within trytagging, you can create your own Tagging Pixel that you will eventually need to add to your site. This tagging pixel is a modified Google Tag Manager script and will therefore replace the current Google Tag Manager script (if you’re using it). This pixel ensures that all traffic on your website is measured without being blocked by third-party cookie blockers and AdBlockers, as the script is loaded from your server/subdomain tagging.yourdomain.nl instead of googletagmanager.com.

Within trytagging, open the container where you want to generate the Tagging Pixel.

If you see the ‘Done’ message next to the domain name, you can proceed to generate the Tagging Pixel. Otherwise, you need to read this helpdesk article about adding the CNAME record in your DNS settings.

Open the pixel installation.
Select the CMS platform on which your site is running. Select the server domain name (2) and enter the Google Tag Manager web container ID (3) that you want to communicate with the Server Container.

Is your CMS not listed among the Platforms? Then select ‘Custom’.

Click ‘create’.
Follow the instructions you see to add the tagging pixel to your site.
