Setting up Google Ads tags on your sGTM container
Open your sGTM container
Navigate to tags
Create a new tag. Choose "Google Ads Conversion Tracking" for the tag configuration
For Conversion ID, enter your Conversion ID from your Google Ads account.
For Conversion Label, enter your Conversion Label from your conversion action within Google Ads.
At the bottom of this article is explained where you can find this ID and Label.
Click trigger, and click on the blue plus icon in the upper right corner to create a new trigger
For trigger configuration, choose the gray option ‘Custom’.
Select ‘Some Events’.
In the left dropdown menu, select ‘Client Name’. In the middle dropdown menu, select ‘equals’. In the right input field, enter “GA4”.
Add another condition by clicking the blue plus sign.
In the left dropdown menu, select ‘Event Name’. In the middle dropdown menu, select ‘equals’. In the right input field, enter the name of your GA4 event that you want to trigger on.
Name the trigger the same as your GA4 event ands save. Name the tag "Google Ads - conversion name and save.
Open your Google Ads account and select: Goals ---> Conversions ---> Summary. Now you can see your conversion actions
Select a conversion of which you want to data to your sGTM tag
Click on Tag Seutp
Select use google tag manager
Copy the conversion-ID and the conversion Label
For Conversion Value and Currency Code, enter these when the event in GA4 is a purchase or has a value (such as add_to_cart or begin_checkout). These can be automatically read from the relevant commerce field. In the case of the value and currency, you can create variables for this in your sGTM container.
Please note that the parameters ‘currency’ and ‘value’ must be present as parameters in your GA4 event that is sent to the server.
Go to variables in your sGTM container
Create a new variable, select ‘Event Data’ as the variable configuration.
Enter ‘currency’ as the Key Path.
Name this variable “currency” and save the variable.
Create a new variable, select ‘Event Data’ as the variable configuration.
Enter ‘value’ as the Key Path.
Name this variable “value” and save the variable.
Navigate to tags
Create a new tag. Choose "Google Ads Conversion Tracking" for the tag configuration

Where to Find the Conversion ID and Conversion Label?
