Snapchat Conversions API
The Snapchat Conversion API is an advanced tool that allows you to share valuable data between your own server and the Snapchat Ads platform. It allows you to send crucial data, such as conversions and events on your website, directly to Snapchat. This allows you to better understand the effectiveness of your ads and optimize your campaigns based on accurate data.
Log in to your Google Tag Manager account and go to your server container.
Go to "Templates" and click on "Search in gallery" under 'Tag templates'.
Enter 'Snapchat' and click on the 'Snapchat Conversion API' template created by Snapchat.
Click "Add to Workspace".
Click on “Tags” in the left menu of your Tag Manager dashboard.
Click on the “New” button to create a new tag.
Name your tag “Snapchat Conversion API”.
For tag configuration, select the Snapchat Conversion API template.
Select the type of event you want to measure with this tag under ‘Event Name Setup Method’. For pageviews, choose ‘Standard’ and then ‘PAGE_VIEW’.
For Event Conversion Type, select Mobile App, Online, or Web based on where the pageview occurs.
In the input fields Pixel ID and API Token, enter your Snapchat Pixel ID and Snapchat API Token.
Add your event_id variable under ‘Event Data’.
Click on Triggers and then click the blue plus sign in the top right corner to create a new trigger.
For trigger configuration, choose the gray option ‘Custom’.
Select ‘Some Events’.
In the left dropdown menu, choose ‘Client Name’. In the middle dropdown menu, choose ‘equals’. In the right input field, enter “GA4”.
Add an extra condition by clicking the blue plus sign.
In the left dropdown menu, choose ‘Event Name’. In the middle dropdown menu, choose ‘equals’. In the right input field, enter “page_view”.
Name the trigger ‘Snapchat page view trigger’ and save it. Then save the tag.
Click on “Tags” in the left menu of your Tag Manager dashboard.
Click on the “New” button to create a new tag.
Name your tag “Snapchat Conversion API”.
For tag configuration, select the Snapchat Conversion API template.
Select the type of event you want to measure with this tag under ‘Event Name Setup Method’. For purchase, choose ‘Standard’ and then ‘PURCHASE’. For generate_lead, choose ‘SIGN_UP’.
For Event Conversion Type, select Mobile App, Online, or Web based on where the conversion occurs.
In the input fields Pixel ID and API Token, enter your Snapchat Pixel ID and Snapchat API Token.
Add your event_id variable under ‘Event Data’.
Add the user data you want to pass under ‘User Data’.
Click on Triggers and then click the blue plus sign in the top right corner to create a new trigger.

In the left dropdown menu, choose ‘Event Name’. In the middle dropdown menu, choose ‘equals’. In the right input field, enter “purchase” or “generate_lead” (depending on which conversion event you are setting this trigger for).
Name the trigger ‘Snapchat conversion_name trigger’ and save it. Then save the tag.

Conversion tag
Click on “Tags” in the left menu of your Tag Manager dashboard.
Click on the “New” button to create a new tag.
Name your tag “Snapchat Conversion API”.
For tag configuration, select the Snapchat Conversion API template.
Select the type of event you want to measure with this tag under ‘Event Name Setup Method’. For purchase, choose ‘Standard’ and then ‘PURCHASE’. For generate_lead, choose ‘SIGN_UP’.
For Event Conversion Type, select Mobile App, Online, or Web based on where the conversion occurs.
